The Isle of Man Special Olympic team have made a dream start in Gibraltar National Games in the Track & Field Competitions they have won 5 Gold, 5 Silver and 3 bronze medals.
14 year old Stephen Molnar from Port Erin made his debut for the Island winning gold in the Long Jump, Silver in the 200 metres and Bronze in the A Shot before anchoring the Relay squad to Gold.  Paul Clucas took gold in the B event 100 metres and followed up with Silver in the B Shot and B Long jump.   Lawrence Dyer won the B Long Jump event finishing 4th in the 100 metres and 5th in 200 metres. Peter Taylor won 4 medals Gold in Shot putt B event, Silver in 100 metres and Bronze in the 2oo metres with a new personal best time.  The only female competitor from the Isle of Man was Lindsey Fox who won Silver in the Long Jump and Bronze in Shot Putt finishing 4th in 100metres.
Day two will see the Islands 5 a side Football team take on Gibraltar, Spain and Portugal the event has already been changed from out door to indoor as it is far to hot.

Paul Clucas & Jody Blaney give us an unbelievable double gold at Snow Shoe running, sorry don't have anymore information they are 150 miles away in McCall (will bring as soon as I know)

The Floor Hockey remain unbeaten they had a very hard game against Jordan winning 5 goals to 4.
This morning in the next phase of the competition they beat Austria 8 goals to 4 and then 3 hours later beat Costa Rica 9 goals to 3. We have major problems with illness and injuries will play Jordan tomorrow with only  fit 11 players.
